I'm Not Running For A Title.
I'm Running For Our Community.

I'm Aldon Bookhardt. I've lived in Brevard for 56 years – not because it's convenient, but because this is home.

I'm not a career politician, nor do I plan to be. I'm the person who helps elders in the community, sponsors feeding programs, and helps young adults learn a trade.

The people of District 1 have better ideas than any career politician ever will. I'm just the one showing up with a microphone, a notebook, and a vote that follows our community's lead.

You'll find me at food giveaways and gas giveaways—not just when it's a holiday, but when it's tough. When the heat is brutal. When there are no cameras. Because that's when help really matters.

That's the kind of commissioner I'll be: present on the hard days, not just the photo days.

My Experience

Let me be clear—I am not a politician. I never have been. But I've been around politics my entire life.

I grew up in a house with 7 sisters and 3 brothers—I'm number 10 out of 11 with parents who were married for 65 years and more nieces and nephews than I can count. In a family that big, you learn politics real fast. You learn how to negotiate, how to compromise, and most importantly, how to fight for what's fair.

Now, after knocking on doors and talking to so many of you, I've learned something. The politics are all the same. But the issues are different.

I'm not here to play politics. I'm here to help get the needs of the community addressed.

As a contractor and developer with years of experience dealing with county government, I've seen firsthand how inefficient, cumbersome, and sometimes unresponsive our departments can be. Red tape slows down progress, frustrates our community, and drives up costs for everyone.

That's why I'll work directly with the County Manager and department heads to cut through the bureaucracy, streamline processes, and ensure our government actually responds to the needs of our community. No more excuses. No more delays. Just results.

County Commission is about roads, infrastructure, affordable housing, water, and safety – not DC politics.
